Email for use when
a parent last minute cancels a meeting and doesn't
attempt to meet before the 20th school day.
Dear Parent,
After speaking with my advisor on this, she
reminded me that our school policy is that we meet face-to-face every 20 school days or earlier in order to be compliant and avoid
truancy. Since you have known about this appointment for quite some
time now, it would be your responsibility to let me know if you cannot make an
appointment and give me an opportunity to meet with you before the
20th school day has passed.
Since you were unable to meet with me within
the 20 school days, a 1st truancy was issued.
You should receive the truancy letter by regular mail in the next few
days. Our policy is that when a first truancy is issued,
I am required to meet with you within one week of the missed appointment.
Here's
our school policy for your review:
(For OG use: http://www.ogcs.org/parent_resources.html#truancy
)
(For SS use: http://www.sscs.cc/parent_resources.html#truancy)
In order to avoid a 2nd
truancy, not only do we need to meet in person, but I have to see all learning
that took place. Please plan to provide the following at our next meeting
in one week:
1) all portfolio pieces -
per my previous emails requesting these
2) all work completed
since we last met
I would like to offer the following dates/times to
meet next week. Can you meet me half-way
somewhere?
1)
2)
3)
Please let me know which date works best for you,
and where you can meet me, and I will plan accordingly.
Thanks,
OG/SS ES
