2nd
rollsheet with a truancy
Dear Parent,
When we met yesterday
for our learning record meeting, I didn't feel
that your child (children) did enough work to demonstrate xx days of
attendance. I will be submitting a second rollsheet that reflects xx amount of attendance along with your signed
rollsheet to the office. A truancy letter will be sent
shortly since there just wasn't enough
work demonstrated at our meeting.
At a typical learning record
meeting, I need to see 20 days worth of school work in
at least 5 of the 7 growth areas, and collect pieces at each meeting to
then pick from for portfolio submission. A great way of preparing for the
meeting is to track what work your child has done in each growth areas
that you covered, and plan to show that work at the meeting. I enjoy
looking at the work with your child so we can go over it together and they can
share what they learned with me. In order for me to sign my name to the
rollsheet, the amount of days of attendance cannot go under 50%.
I've included the truancy policies for your review. http://www.ogcs.org/parent_resources.html#lrattendance
A second truancy would cause your students
to be dropped from our school and my hope is that we
can avoid that situation.
I would like to meet with you in 10
school days to have our next learning record meeting to make sure
everything is on track. My goal is to make sure you understand our school
policies and for us to have a great working relationship together in the
future. I enjoy working with your child (children), and my hope is that
we can work this out, and continue working together down the road.
Please email me and let me know if
you can meet on xx date for our next LR meeting.
Thank you,
OG/SS ES
