Revised 7/04

Area Sites (this document applies to existing sites only)

Area sites were established and maintained by one or more ES(s) in a particular area. Their establishment was in response to the requests and desires of the parents in that area. (Due to state laws, we can no longer add any new additional sites.) The expenses for the existing sites, including utilities, furniture, computers, wages for oversight, etc., are deducted from the instructional funds and/or subsidized by the school's general fund. The funds expended at each site will be deducted from each ES account according to the ESs designation in WEBfiles. A parent must sign a written notice of intent to use the facility provided by the ES prior to the incurrance of any site expenses, similar to a commitment to participate in a Contract Program Activity . Once the Program Expense Agreement is signed by the parent, funds will be committed for the entire school year. Arrangements may be made between parents and the ES to have partial use of the facilities in exchange for partial support if said arrangement is agreeable to both the parent and the ES. ESs should look for ways to include the costs of area sites that are also used for Contract Program Activity in the cost of those classes. Deductions could be made for such things as library privileges, warehousing, materials distribution, etc. Every effort must be made to produce a situation where the ones using the facility should be bearing the cost of it.
