Revised 8/2010
OGCS/SSCS ES Participation in School Assessments
ES Responsibility
As part of the ES job responsibility listed in the ES Job Description, each ES must participate every year in the test proctoring and/or other duties associated with the charter school's state and charter mandated assessment tests. Each charter school has individual testing requirements that can affect the length of the local testing cycles. Each year the duties will be divided out over the number of school staff, test site locations, and test days to determine the number of full-time days each ES must serve at a test site. Please note that some test assignments are considered a half-day if the ES is not required to be at the site for a full school day.
“Part-time for test purposes” ESs (12 students
or less) will work approximately ½ the
number of duty days a “full-time for test purposes” (13+ students) ES serves.
Each ES must participate equitably with the testing duties under the direction
of the local testing coordinator to which they are assigned until testing is
completed. Failure to participate as required will result in ES Discipline.
If an ES wishes to switch their assigned proctor days or location, it is their
responsibility to find another ES to trade with.
After the shared test sites have completed their test days, any ES serving
an active student that did not test must complete that test individually
in a quiet public location. ES’s with special education students may also
be required to individually test their students.
