ES Evaluation Procedure

The ES Evaluation is a compilation of information received from the following sources: ES, parents, ES Advisor, and Executive Director of the school. A mid-year evaluation will be completed for first year ESs. The ES Self-Evaluation and ES Advisor evaluation will be completed by late spring of each school year. The ES may respond to the ES evaluation in writing if he/she wishes. This statement will be placed in the personnel file along with the other evaluation documentation.

As part of the ES Self Evaluation, ESs are asked to identify two goals that they will work on for the next school year, date them, and enter them into WEBfiles (ES detail screen). These goals are then used the following year for the ES to comment on their progress towards meeting these goals. These comments are attached to the ES Self Evaluation as a third page to the document. See "Sample Goals" for suggestions and formatting ideas. Teachers that were not employed the previous year will not need this third page.

When filling out the ES self-evaluation, in order to maintain consistency in our ratings, and for the advisors to rightly see how you think you are doing at your ES job, please seriously consider and apply the following guidelines:

Low= Unsatisfactory this is usually a need or behavior that has been mentioned in the past, and the advisor has repeatedly attempted to remind the ES of proper procedure and behavior, but the results are not sufficient and will result in discipline if immediate improvements are not made.

Needs= Needs Improvement this may or may not be something that was mentioned in the past, but the ES should actively seek help and work with advisor to improve before it becomes a discipline issue.

Meets= Meets Job Requirements this means that the ES has done all that is required according to the ES job description and has sufficiently completed and met ALL job duties. To receive this mark is not equivalent to "average", but instead is a commendation for a job well done.

Mid/High= Exceeds Job Requirements this means that the ES has done above and beyond what is required in the job description, and has demonstrated skills and abilities that shine as an example to other ESs. To receive this mark is to receive high praise and recognition for an exceptional job.
