Stand-Alone Publishers
These standards review/test prep products are “stand-alone” and do not tie back to a textbook curriculum for reteaching. Some products contain reteaching along with the standards review/test prep experience, and some simply review the standards through the test prep experience with no instruction or reteaching. Buckle Down Publishing products contain reteaching. Curriculum Associates products are inexpensive, and the formatting of the test questions closely mimics STAR test questions, making it a good test experience and preparation for the student for math, ELA, and Science. Curriculum Associates does not currently have California 8th history standards review products. Both of these publisher’s products were written for California, unlike many of the standards review/test prep materials you might find through other vendors. Theirs are often written to the national standards and are not aligned to California’s standards, or are not formatted as similarly to give a truer test prep experience.

Standards Review Materials: Science Grades 6-12
Textbook Publishers These materials can be used as "stand-alone" products for standards review/test prep practice. You do not need to be using the textbook to use these products. The advantage of these products is that they were written for the California standards and they tie back to the student's curriculum textbook and textbook website for reteaching.

STAR Released Test Questions, Science These free downloads are made available by the state of California. They contain released test questions with test question answers for the science CSTs and End-of-Course tests. Students can use these as a way to review the standards, and obtain a test practice experience.
