The Writing and Spelling Road to Reading and Thinking
Multi-sensory method of teaching that integrates handwriting, reading, and spelling which greatly increases retention. Based on the Orton-Gillingham methods. Some feel the enhanced phonogram cards with the spelling rules on the back are an improvement over the regular Spalding "Writing Road to Reading" phonogram cards.

K - 6 Writing Road to Reading
A homeschool favorite. Based on the Orton-Gillingham methods, this program uses multi-sensory, phonics-based techniques to teach reading, spelling, and handwriting...all at the same time. The see it, say it, write it while saying it, and marking it techniques greatly increases retention. The one-stroke handwriting method is designed to prevent reversals in children who have dyslexic tendencies. It produces well constructed letter formation and an easy transition to cursive.

1 - 8 Spelling Power
Homeschool favorite. Manual contains lesson word lists with built in review for retention, a strength of this program. Activity task cards coordinate with the word lists. The program comes with diagnostic tests for placement, and a Quick Start video.
One of the strengths of this program is in the activity cards. If the student is not using the activity cards, then a regular spelling workbook program might be a better choice.
