Purpose:

The purpose of the intake curriculum is to provide incoming students with inexpensive, standards-aligned material that can be used until the family orders and receives their curriculum for the year.  It is just a piece of a complete program, meant to give them a “taste” of the program, which they can try before ordering their material.  Once families have tried out the intake material, they can make a decision to purchase the program’s other components and make a complete curriculum, or to order another program and use the intake material as a guide.  Families that do not want to use the program should return the materials to the centers.
