Tutoring Details and Guidelines
Before we speak with the
students’ parents, it’s helpful if you’ve discussed and agreed upon the
subjects to be tutored, the type of tutoring (online or in-home), and the
number of tutoring hours needed.
We recommend at least one
hour per week per subject. We will do two subjects in an hour per week, but if
the student is remedial it spreads the tutoring time quite thin. We prefer to
concentrate on one subject so the student sees improvement as quickly as
possible. If HQT Grading required, see details on
portfolio management.
Once you’ve agreed upon the subjects and
number of hours, we need to speak with the parents. Use our handy tutoring request form to
give us the necessary information to efficiently provide tutoring for your
students. Alternatively, email or call us to let us know that you’ve submitted
paperwork for a particular student. If not using our on-line form, be sure to
give us this information:
·
Parent’s name
& phone number
·
Student’s name,
age, subject and grade level
·
For on-line
tutoring, include parent and student email addresses
We will email you once the
tutoring is arranged and will give you the tutor’s contact information.

Portfolio Management Guidelines
In order for CWCS to best insure their
students’ success, HTP has agreed to alert the Executive Director if there are
serious issues with any student who is in danger of not passing.
Portfolio management needs to
start as close to the beginning of the semester as possible. Any student who
wants portfolio management after September 30
will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
This will insure that the students receive maximum benefit and avoid
end-of-semester confusion. No price
adjustment will be made for portfolio management requests received after the
beginning of the semester. The students will have the same amount of HQT time
available to them no matter when they enroll in our management options. For students that enroll late in the
semester, partial credit may be given for a class.
Please speak with your
parents so they are clear about the portfolio management options. The price
listed is per subject; however it is possible to use various options with different
subjects.
Once you’ve submitted paperwork for a
particular student, please email, call or use our request form
to supply us with this information:
·
Parent’s name, phone
number, and email address
·
Student’s name,
age, subject, grade level and email address
·
Which portfolio
options you’d like for which subjects
We will email the ES, the parent, and the student once
the HQT is arranged and will provide all with our Portfolio Management
Expectations and Procedures which includes the tutor’s contact information. The
HQT will communicate with the ES, parent and student regarding logistics.
