REVISED 8/2009
Measuring Up ePath
What is ePath?
- a student-friendly system on
the Internet that provides diagnostic practice tests in Reading/Language
Arts and Mathematics
- e-Path scores the tests-or lets you
score the written responses-and then generates a Prescriptive Pathway to
give each student individualized
help.
- e-Path tests are based on
specific state standards and simulate the CAHSEE
- Automated reports tell you
immediately whether your students are succeeding and where you might focus
teaching for improvement.
General Information:
- All 10th grade
CAHSEE Intensive students who choose tutoring for their CAHSEE Intensive
Option must complete the
Measuring Up Diagnostic Test (pretest). Students with online access can take the
test online, then print their results and take it to their first tutoring
session. Students who do not have
internet access can complete a printed out copy and take it to their tutor
to correct and score. (ES can pick up a copy at the August ES Meeting for
their 10th grade Intensive students who do not have internet
access.)
- All 10th grade
intensive students will be entered into the program by the curriculum
director. Student username and
password will then be emailed to ES to pass onto student. At this time, the program is only available for 10th grade CAHSEE Intensive students.
- Intensive teachers or tutors
must request a teacher account in order to view student reports and/or
assign quizzes or tests. Please
email Lori Freeman at lofreeman@connectingwaters.org
to request a teacher account. Please also include your student first
and last names on the email request.
- Once a teacher account request
is made, a class will be created and students will be included. The Diagnostic Test (pretest) will be
assigned, and students will be able to take their test and receive their
individual “Prescriptive Path”.
- The “Prescriptive Path” will
list questions missed, standards, and Measuring Up lessons that need to be
completed by the student. This can
be printed out by the student, or by the Intensive teacher or tutor. It should serve as an instructional
guide for the class or tutoring time.
- Measuring Up website is www.measuringupe-path.com
- For students who do not have
online access, the teacher or tutor can request the answer key from Lori
Freeman at lofreeman@connectingwaters.org to correct and score. The key will list standards and
Measuring Up lessons just like the online ePath.
- Math Diagnostic Test has 80
questions and the ELA has 73.
Students do not have to take the test in one sitting and should
allow ample time (90 mins, give or take) to take
their test. This test mirrors the
actual CAHSEE and although long, gives students an excellent idea of what
to expect.
- Quick Start Directions for use with teacher accounts.
