Distance Learning Resources

IEM is committed to maximizing student learning opportunities as well as continually increasing the timely availability of new options. Consonant with our organizational commitment, multiple distance learning opportunities are rapidly emerging. IEM Distance Learning (DL) is focused both on developing new options and on educating parents and staff about the array of current choices for on-line courses, courseware and individualized academic and student support services below.

Sometimes, numerous choices can be a challenge. As you explore possibilities through the links provided:

  • Prioritize selections according to how well a course or service meets your student's unique needs and interests.
  • Compare costs and select the approved vendor that offers the most for the best price. Making available multiple options has added the benefit of encouraging vendors to offer increasingly competitive pricing.
  • Demo the course or service. Most of our vendors conduct either phone or virtual tours of their offerings, and the directions for the tour are often described on the home page of the web site. This kind of direct student experience and hands-on learning will give you a clearer picture of a potential option's suitability and capacity for engaging and sustaining student interest.
  • Take the Self-Assessment for Online Students to determine if your high school student iis a good candidate for online learning.
