Accelerated Reader- Now 100,000 Quizzes!

            Connecting Waters is proud to announce that we have purchased Accelerated Reader Enterprise for our students.  This option gives students access to more than 100,000 Accelerated Reader quizzes and all new quizzes as they are created.  The Accelerated Reader program was designed to:

*Get students excited about books. Accelerated Reader helps students in grades K-12 focus attention on careful reading of books, which improves student’s critical-thinking skills and builds an intrinsic love of reading.  At this time, parents will be the ones to reward for points earned and goals met.

*Obtain reliable, objective information. Quizzes give you valuable data on students, library book reading, literacy skills development, and more. Quizzes are accessed on your home computer through an Internet connection.

*Help every student master standards. Accelerated Reader helps raise scores on state tests and ensure mastery of standards.  Research proves it!

*Keep each student challenged. Using Accelerated Reader, you can continuously guide students to appropriate books and curriculum. This means you can ensure that every student is challenged without being frustrated.  The parent can set goals for the average percent correct, points earned, and average book level read.

Accelerated Reader Enterprise offers four types of Quizzes:

•           Reading Practice Quizzes ask literal questions that measure a student’s comprehension of a book.

•           Recorded Voice Quizzes allow beginning readers to take quizzes on their own because these quizzes include professionally narrated audio.

•           Literacy Skills Quizzes ask higher-level questions that require students to apply 24 specific reading skills most often assessed on standardized tests.

•           Vocabulary Practice Quizzes help you get students more excited about learning vocabulary.
