REVISED 09/2009

Theme Park/Service PO Guidelines

Policy

The student must do an "educational" tour of the park that relates to their courses for that semester to qualify for a paid admission.  The ES must go to the park’s website and print out the "educational materials" for the educational tour, be sure it matches the student’s course of study, and see that the students complete the appropriate worksheets that go along with the visit to the park. Some of the worksheets are designed to be completed prior to the visit, some during the visit, and some after the visit.  Be sure your expectations of what they will complete are clear.  You may want to collect some of the pre-visit worksheets prior to releasing the check/tickets to the family to ensure it will be an “educational” tour.

After their visit, be sure to list the educational learning activities that occurred that day at the park, plus the learning they did on the worksheets in preparation for the visit, in detail in the student's learning record.

Restrictions

  • Food may not be purchased by school PO
  • Admission may only be purchased for enrolled students, and for a GEA, chaperones as required.
  • Parking may not be purchased by school PO
  • Theme parks not educational in nature must be done as a GEA (GEAs are created by CWCS Office only) with an Educational Tour only, no individual service POs.
