Installing
Citrix Client
for Macintosh
New ESes, BEFORE STARTING, MAKE SURE THAT YOU'VE SUBMITTED
A PERSONAL PASSWORD TO YOUR ADVISOR AS DIRECTED .
- To Download
- Once download complete,
and depending on how your system manages downloads, you should see a new icon
on your desktop titled “macICA_OSX.dmg”.
- Configuration Instructions (simple)
- Hold down the Control Key while clicking on this link, filemaker.ica
- Select "Save linked file as" or "Save link as"
- Save it to your Desktop.(Make sure to name it filemaker.ica. Do not follow the suggestion to put a .txt after the name.)
- Double-click on the filemaker icon on your desktop (or if that only opens it as a text file, then control-click to select "Open with", then Citrix Application)
- Enter your username and password and proceed to the "Once a connection is made..." step below (click here to go there)
- Configuration Instructions (detailed)
- If the step 3 instructions do not work for you or you wish to create a log on that saves your username and password, then follow the steps in this section
- Open a finder window(if it was closed) and locate the Citrix ICA Client folder
- Opent the Citrix ICA Client folder
- Double click the "Citrix ICA Client Editor"
- Accept the agreement
- Select “Default Settings” on the bottom left of the next window
- click
on "Add",
next to the Address list window
- Now click in
the empty field next to server and enter the following: citrix1.ieminc.org
- In the empty
field next to Port, enter 8080. (It should read 8080 when you are done)
- Click "OK"
- Repeat steps f thru i 3 more times, but in the empty field next to server enter the following three:
- Citrix2.ieminc.org
- Citrix3.ieminc.org
- Citrix5.ieminc.org
m2) Click "Firewalls"
- Check the box "Use alternate address for firewall connection" Click "OK"
- Click on the "Connection Properties" tab at the top of the page.
- Click on the "Windows and Sounds" tab just down from that.
- Under Window size, select, "800x600" from the drop down list
- Under Window Colors, select "thousands"
- Click "Save"
- You should be on the “Network Connection” tab
- Select “Published
Application”
- Now click on
the “Browse” button. ( you must be connected to the Internet for this
step)
- When the new
window pops up select “filemaker”
- Then enter
your username (your e-mail address up to the @ sign)
- Then enter the
password (the one you submitted to techsupport)
- Then enter the
domain: ieminc
- Click on
"Save"
- In the Save
box
"FileMaker Pro" should be there and it will need to be saved into the
Citrix folder located in your Applications Folder.
- Now click
"Save"
- It should
prompt you where to save filemaker and it should be
saved in the Citrix folder. The path
after install should be: HD/applicatons/Citrix ICA Client
- Then click
"Quit"
- Running/Launching
the application ( you must be online )
- You should now
have an icon for Filemaker Pro within the Citrix folder.
- You can create
a shortcut by dragging this icon to the dock at the bottom of your screen.
- Double-click
the filemaker icon to run the application (it will
initialize the connection, be patient here)
- Once
a connection is made, A window will appear for filemaker pro and select "Open an existing file"
- In the next window,
on the left, under "Host" select Data1 (192.168.0.130).
- On
the right, under "Available Files" select _Menu.
Click Open.
- In the next window
enter your ES Code and password (the one submitted to techsupport), then click
"submit"
- You should now
be on the main page for ES navigation.
