ES Listserves Info

Listserv Info

All ESs need to be on 2 school listserves:

1. School ES List Serve to receive ES info by school.
2. School Parent listserve to see the information being given to your parents and to be able to pass info on to your parents without email.  Please encourage all of your families to participate in their listserve.

The IEM office will automatically enroll the ESs on each of these listserves.**

You will receive an e-mail...please don't think that it is an advertisement and ask to be removed from the listserve. You will not need to respond. Once enrolled, you may go to the yahoogroups website and specify preferences as directed below.

Listserve Purpose

ESs must be sure that their families are being informed about ALL school events. The parents best option for receiving timely school information is their direct participation with our school parent list serve. Any families not on the parent list serve will have to have the information sent out by parent listserve given to them by their ES.

-To log into the listserve options available on the website, Go to http://yahoogroups.com.

-Click on “new users ‘click here to register’”

-Sign up using a user name of your preference… I had to try four or five before I found one that someone else hadn’t chosen, so make it unique and also something that you wouldn’t be embarrassed for someone else to see in print…

-Create a password. I used my school e-mail password to help me remember what it is, but you may use whichever one you would like… you choose.

-Be sure to remove the check mark in the “send me special offers, promotions, etc”… unless you want them too!)

-After submitting the information, make sure that you go to the section that says, “click here to edit your marketing preferences” and mark as desired… be careful to do this step or you may be inundated with advertising!

-I am signed up for several groups and found that if I use the same user name and password, my marketing preferences follow along to the other groups.

-If you click on the group name, listed under “My Groups”, you will open a page that has a secure chat area, a section for “files” to be viewed and downloaded, a section that shows all messages that have ever been sent to your all ES e-mail, and many other possibilities that we have yet to explore! This site will be for your reference only. Any e-mails will be sent to your e-mail program. If you have any troubles, please contact IT for help with getting your school e-mail address to come into your e-mail program. Thank you for your cooperation! Always changing, yes, but always improving!

**If you are not signed up for the ES listserve you think you should be on, or accidently deleted yourself and need to be readded, contact Janet Marsh at jmarsh@ieminc.org.

Please note, the following ISP providers are NOT compatible with our server: AOL, Prodigy, MSN, NetZero, or Compuserve.
