Attendance Credit in Regards to Concurrent Enrollment in Community College

The policies and procedures in the Community College section of the ES manual must be followed. The ES must know the number of college units an CWCS student is earning at a community college. The number of units the student is taking at a community college may affect the attendance that CWCS can claim.

-If a CWCS student is enrolled in 25 units or more in the charter school, (not counting any college credits), the charter school can claim full attendance.

-If a student is taking community college classes, and is not attempting to earn a minimum of 20 units (not counting any college credits) in the charter school, then only half attendance credit can be claimed. Consult your advisor.

-If a student is taking community college classes, and is not attempting to earn a minimum of 10 units (not counting any college credits) in CWCS, then the ES should contact their advisor immediately.

For those instances above when the ES must claim half attendance credit, the ES must ensure half attendance credit is marked on the attendance roll sheet. The parent will alternate X’s and O’s on the roll sheet.
