Using Moodle
Log on to Moodle: http://moodle.connectingwaters.org/login/index.php
Enter your user name and password according to the below directions:
Your username and password have
been created for you.
Students enter STU_ and your full name with NO spaces. Parent accounts are an
extra feature you can use if you wish. They are EXACTLY the same as the
student's name but have a PAR_ in front. They do NOT use the parent first name
(for various reasons, one being the ease of linking them to your child)
Examples:
Stu_JohnSmith password would be John (note cap J)
Par_JohnSmith (note it uses your child's name, same
password, just Par_ in front but NOT the parent first name)
The username is not case sensitive meaning you can use or not use caps. The
password IS case sensitive, so use a capital in front. We encourage you to
change it to something more secure that you can remember. Also change the fake
email to your email in your profile.
Tricky names with hypens or spaces like Mary Joe
Smith would keep the hyphen or space and have TWO caps like this:
STU_Mary JoeSmith (note
space but caps don't matter in username) and for password, Mary Joe (note space
and two caps DO matter here) Last names with spaces would similarly have spaces
like Billy Jones Smith, STU_BillyJones Smith
Hypen example is below: Sue Jones-Smith would be
STU_SueJones-Smith and password Sue. (note hypen in last name)
John O'Leary would be STU_JohnO'Leary
(If you are having trouble with your log in, you may ask your ES to look up your login details through the "Moodle Student Search".)
Log in, and then select a course department and course title from the left. You will get a message that says “You are about to enroll yourself as a member of this course. Are you sure you wish to do this?”
If you say “yes”, you will arrive on that specific course’s Moodle website. The Moodle website includes the course syllabus, assignments, and an Elluminate Live! link for accessing the online classroom for that course. For more Elluminate information, see Elluminate Participation Guide, Elluminate Code of Conduct, and Elluminate for Dial-up.
If you have accidentally enrolled yourself in the wrong course, you may “disenroll” by clicking on the link “unenroll me…”
Please note, your ES must officially enroll you in the course via our
school database. If you enroll and disenroll via Moodle, it will not affect your status in the class. You
must enroll and disenroll officially through your ES.
The feature above is only to provide you access to the Moodle
course information and the Elluminate link.
