NCLB Teacher Requirements

NCLB HOUSSE Part II Option:

All of the CWCS teachers are HQ or are in the process of completing an exam in order to become HQ. You are HQ for k-8, 9-12 identified core subjects or both.

HOUSSE Part I and HOUSSE Part II are only for “Not New” teachers.

You either became HQ certified using the certification form or HOUSSE Part I form.  California for has been given an extension of one year (June 2007) to become 100% HQ certified.  As stated above some of you have several certifications.  Many of you can also qualify for other certifications by either using HOUSSE Part I or HOUSSE Part II.  HOUSSE Part II will no longer be available after June 2007. By using HOUSSE Part II you may be able to qualify to be HQ in some of the Secondary Core Areas.  This would mean that you could be the teacher of record for that secondary course if you have a multiple subject credential. For instance, you would not need to have a HQ department teacher sign the SA for that core subject for your student.

Many of have already completed the HOUSSE Part I for additional certification and do not need to do it again.  Only proceed if you have not already completed HOUSSE I or II form or you may complete it for additional subject matters if applicable.
