Subject: [CWCSParents] How to use Educational Funds for Group Educational Activities

If you are planning to use educational funding for an activity this school year, PLEASE read the following:

To use educational funding and register for a Group Educational Activity (field trip)sponsored by the school YOU MUST DO THREE THINGS.

ONE:  Have your E.S. sign your student(s) up on the webfiles for the activity,

TWO:  Send a CWCS permission slip to the contact person,

THREE:  Register (send your information to the contact person) and pay additional fees for adults and siblings if needed.

Please remember ALL steps when registering for a GEA.  If your students are signed up on the webfiles, but no permission slip is completed and sent, educational funding cannot be used and they are not registered for the GEA.

We had 12 students who were signed up on the webfiles for the Modesto Symphony Orchestra GEA who did not turn in a permission slip, and most had not contacted the group organizer to register at all.  These students ARE NOT registered for this activity because they only completed ONE step.

If we graciously decide to allow these families to sign up AFTER the deadline, this slows down the process of organizing these GEAs, waiting for these families to get their permission slips in and get their information (and payment) to the contact person before the trip can be finalized.

PLEASE be sure all THREE steps are completed for a GEA (see above) BEFORE the deadline given so other families do not have to wait for you and postone the planning of an activity, or worse, jeopardize us from being able to participate at all because of limited access.

Thank you!
