December Agenda Compilation

Regarding out of date books.  We appreciate the drop-off date that was scheduled in November.  Will there be regular dates like this, or are we allowed to write “discard” any out of date books and donate them to Goodwill? Donations do sound good and would be a lot easier; however, we have to dispose of state property in certain ways. ESes will need to wait for another date, probably at the end of the school year.

For large items that are damaged and won’t fit in a car, such as a drum set, should we ship them to Waterford?  Will the school pay the postage on that?  Or can we take a photo that shows the damage and let the family dispose of it locally? The damaged item can be dismantled and brought to an all ES meeting.

If a sample is oriented in a landscape fashion instead of the usual portrait orientation, should the label go on the side of the sample so it is at the top when the samples are all together or should it go on the true top right of the sample? The label should be placed at so that it can be viewed with all other sample labels.

Do we need to wait for another “Computer Day” if we have computers that need to be taken back?  Yes, due to space restrictions.

If we are checking bar coded books in an out to another family, can we do it by phone or e-mail? Yes, email will be accepted.

If we have new books that aren’t barcoded yet for a family that is leaving the school, can we take them to the learning center to get bar coded?  What do we do about those books?  If they are referring to books that have been ordered by the ES then they do not need to have them barcoded at this time.

In the Spring, when we are gathering materials for the Fall, will we be able to check out extra materials from the learning center.  The designation of five per family will not work well since they will be finishing their books for this year, but also gathering books for next year.  Can there be a different designation to check-out for next year?  The library should mainly be used for those who are new to the school or do not have a lot of IFs. Most families who have been with the school have a lot of IFs.  Books should be checked in at the end of the school year. The learning centers will be open until the end of June for check out which should work out fine. If it doesn’t work out well we will reconsider for next year.
