February Scantron Workshops
Thursday,
February 7 at 1:30 p.m.
or
Tuesday,
February 19 at 2:30 p.m.
You are
encouraged to join us if you haven’t had the opportunity to attend the previous
sessions. ESes who attended the first two sessions gave very positive feedback
on the information provided. Matthew Busser from Scantron Performance Series
will provide two additional web workshops for Connecting Waters. He will show
us how to analyze the data and graphs generated by Scantron testing and explain
SIP, SEM, and NPR. Then Matthew will discuss how ESes can share reports with
parents in practical terms and conclude with questions/answers. The session
will last approximately one hour.
If you
would like to attend, please email Jodi Leonardo jleonardo@connectingwaters.org
with your session preference, and an invitation link will be emailed to you.
Scantron Update
Based
on the recommendation of our Scantron Performance Series representative, Grade
Level Equivalency was removed from our Scantron results page. It was misleading
because the GLE is determined by using a student’s overall scaled score and
positioning it on the national norm samples Grade Level Equivalent Scale. It
does not necessarily mean the student should be placed at that grade level, or
has the curricular framework to do work at that level. As an alternative, the
WRAT4 can be used in grades K-12 to assess your student’s reading fluency and
comprehension level.
