New Curriculum
Ordered
I am happy to share that we have ordered new science and history texts for grades 1-8. Each center will have several copies available for check out. We ordered the new elementary Scott Foresman CA Science, Harcourt California Science, and Harcourt Reflections for history, and Glencoe Discovering our Past and Focus on Science for middle school. These are all wonderful standards-aligned programs that I’m sure families will enjoy.
Reserve A-G and
Textbook Resources
Both centers will have A-G textbooks and various textbook teacher materials that will be available to view and use within the center only. This is a great way for parents and ESs to preview curriculum before purchasing. Parents and ESs can also make copies or use the software to use with their student edition, and not have to purchase the TE or additional resources, which can get expensive. The goal of the reserve shelf is to let all interested families and ES have access to these items at all times.
New Library System
Both learning center libraries are being catalogued and will have an electronic check-out system in place for the new school year. We are using the Surpass Library System, which will allow ESs and families to see what is available at each site from home through the internet. Along with new systems, come new procedures. Please review the following procedures that have been created for material check-out.
