ES Specific Info

An ES wanted to know if items from the compilations were added to the ES Manual

Items that are changes in policy and procedure are added, but if you note any items that are not changed, please email cmiller@connectingwaters.org

Educational Info

With the new information about Odysseyware, should ES’s consider these discs consumable, and therefore NOT return them to the learning centers? Please collect them from your families and return to the learning centers to be returned to the Waterford Office.

In placing the score on the top of the writing sample, should ES’s use the 1-4 scale or the 4-16 scale? 1-4

Do the ESs need to include the rubric they used in the portfolio?  No, they use it as a guide but it does not have to be included in the portfolio.

Do we use the first draft only if possible?  Yes, but also include the final draft if you have it. Sometimes parents like to show their student’s best work.

We were told that we can order individual Measuring Up answer keys. Could a link be provided in the Dec. compilation? SHERRI Some ESs order them individually by typing the ISBN# in the description portion of the PO, and putting “TE” in the catalog# section for $17.95 each.

Has there been discussion at the admin. level (and with Terry Souza) regarding the use/benefits/availability of grade specific rubrics? Note sent to Terry and admin with request. We are investigating a set of grade specific rubrics and will post them when approved.

Have general P.E. classes been added to the restricted courses?  Can we get clarification on P.E. courses and the restrictions for funding?

General PE classes have been added to the restricted courses list. No more than 30% of the instructional funds can be spent on General PE classes. Please consult your advisor for further clarification.

Can we have parents initial or sign something during the intake process that says that some of their funding will be spent on STAR test prep materials?

We will add a note on the Assessment Confirmation form before the new forms are signed for next year. Good suggestion!

Instead of increasing student funds (if that is a possibility for next year), can we have money set aside to purchase STAR test prep materials to give to the students?

Due to the wide variety of materials available and the number of students in our school, we will leave this up to the ES and the parent.
