Special Directions for Non-Readers
1) In the Fall, use the WRAT instead of Scantron with the following:
-(Notify Advisor and cc Jodi Leonardo) Any 2nd grade student who is a non-reader, unable to make progress on the Scantron, timing out that occurs when the test "auto-spoils"(a system default that occurs when students appear to be guessing), and/or experiencing sufficient frustration over the inability to read the screen contents.
-(With Advisor Approval- Advisor will consult with the Executive Director) Any student 3rd grade or above who is a non-reader, unable to make progress on the Scantron, timing out that occurs when the test "auto-spoils"(a system default that occurs when students appear to be guessing), and/or experiencing sufficient frustration over the inability to read the screen contents.
- Special Education non readers of any grade level can have the Scantron grade level lowered with Special Ed’s recommendation to Assessment Department
2) During the regular Scantron testing time in the second semester, administer the WRAT, again, for comparison purposes.
