ASSESSMENT CALENDAR 2012/2013

Assessment Department Goals

  • Maintain 99+ percent participation rate for STAR and 10th grade CAHSEE
  • Research STAR scores and discuss feasibility of 2-day testing for specific grades
  • Provide CAHSEE score reports to English and Math departments for each test administration
  • Continue to review and revise assessment layouts in FRED for maximum efficiency
  • Create practical, specific, training procedures that cover effective communication (parents, students, and staff). Suggested times for trainings are October and February at area ES meetings
  • Provide an in-depth question/answer session for the STAR Site Coordinators at the February All-ES meeting
  • Establish improved STAR material accountability procedure for site coordinators and Assessment Department
  • Administer CELDT tests as needed within 30 days of enrollment for initial tests and by October 31 for annual tests
  • Communicate CELDT results with ES and parents within 30 days of receiving score reports
  • Review and revise Assessment Clerk duties
  • Recruit parent volunteers for STAR testing assistance by November and communicate monthly via email with training materials
  • Update all assessment policy and procedures that have changed or not been written down
  • Use Scantron to test Special Ed students and those students without current STAR scores
  • Work with Data Team and ESs to pilot Scantron K-2 program
  • Choose and train specific ESs to help with STAR/CAHSEE Special Ed testing
  • Follow SBAC updates and keep ESs informed of upcoming test changes
  • Check Spring Break dates of school districts within our test site areas to use when we set our test dates
