10th Grade 2010 - 2011 ~ CAHSEE Intensive Plan Options

Due to budget cuts, there have been changes for the CAHSEE Intensive for 10th grade students.  10th grade CAHSEE Intensive students must sign up for eKnowledge Access (formerly ePath) and take the Diagnostic Test online.  After taking the test, students are to print their “personal prescriptive path” which will list the standards and Early Level Measuring Up lessons that they need to work on.  It will also provide a projected proficiency level based on the student’s total score.  Students who do not have online access can take a paper- pencil test which will need to be corrected by the ES and the results sent to Lori Freeman at lofreeman@connectingwaters.org.  Hard copy tests and keys can be picked up at the August ES Meeting.

All 10th grade Intensive students, (those with internet access and those without) must be enrolled in eKnowledge via GEA courses below; all students will then receive the Early Level Measuring Up Student Workbook and either eKnowledge online access or hard-copy Diagnostic Tests.  By ordering in bulk, we are saving $, and ESs will not have to order individual student textbooks.

.

In December, all 10th grade CAHSEE students must take the Diagnostic Test 2 online.  If a student scores proficient on this test, (59% or better) they will not have to enroll in an approved CAHSEE Intensive class or tutor for the spring semester.  Students who do not take the Diagnostic Test, or students who do not score proficient, (58% or below) will have to enroll in an approved CAHSEE Intensive class or tutoring for the spring semester, from Jan. 10th – March 4th.  Attendance will be tracked and monitored during the spring semester.

Attendance tracking will not take place during the fall semester.  Although it is not required that 10th grade Intensive students enroll in a CAHSEE Intensive course or receive weekly tutoring during the fall, it is highly recommended that they use available resources to help them prepare for passing the exam.

See CAHSEE Intensive Plan for more information on Requirements of CAHSEE Intensive, and Policies and Procedures.
