Exemption Request Information
(Do not use for OGCS and SSCS--see the information at the school specific link)
Parent Exemption Request Policy:
Upon
enrolling in an IEM Charter school, parents and students are made aware of the
requirement to participate in state-mandated assessments by initialing that
area on school enrollment documents. It is now a federal requirement of the No
Child Left Behind ACt that all public school students participate yearly in
these mandatory assessments. Therefore, it is crucial to our existence as a
public Charter school to have 100% student participation in these
state-mandated assessments.
We
wish to respect the choices made by our parents/students regarding their
educational programs while at the same time complying with California
Department of Education's requirements and the national NCLB requirements in
order to continue offering an educational choice school.
Parents/students
may choose not to have test scores resulting from these mandated assessments
included in their cumulative files.
